A Happy Day of Celebration

A Happy Day of Celebration

Over 180 parishioners and invited guests came together on Sunday 28th October to celebrate our Patronal Festival and to give thanks for the completion of the £850,000 major restoration of our ancient and modern Church.

The Festal Eucharist was led by Archbishop John, who commended those involved in the six year campaign to raise the money we needed and who oversaw the delivery of the restoration work. He also encouraged us to use our now 'fit for purpose' building' for even more community outreach, as we seek to respond to Jesus' great commission to 'go and make disciples of all people'.

The music at the Festal Eucharist was so uplifting and included parts of a new mass setting written by our Director of Music for All Saints'.

After the service 112 people stayed on for a Celebratory lunch in the south aisle, with complimentary wine and orange juice on the table [thanks to generous parishioners].

It was a sumptuous feast, with a host of speciality salads, cooked meats prepared by chefs Dorrian and Phil, followed by some highly calorific desserts.

We thank Mary, Sheila and their team for all their hard work and those who helped to prepare the south aisle for the event and who cleared up afterwards. Special thanks to Dorrian and Phil for all that they did in the kitchen, and to Margaret, who did so much of the washing up. The lunch was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and was a happy celebration of the completion of the restoration of the Church.
