A Happy Day out in Mumbles

A Happy Day out in Mumbles

On Sunday 12th August we welcomed around fifty local asylum seekers, refugees and their families for a 'Day out in Mumbles'

They shared lunch, tea and fellowship with local people in Tabernacle Chapel and took part in a number of enjoyable activities - including a tour of the Castle, the Lifeboat House, a singing workshop in All Saints' and arts and crafts in our Lady Star of the Sea.

One of the highlights of the day was when our guests were welcomed by the local High Sheriff, Henry Gilbert. The children, in particular, were delighted to meet him [photograph left].

The day was organised by the 'Swansea City of Sanctuary' group in partnership with local Churches. We hope that it will be the first of many.
