Barbara's Garden Party

Barbara's Garden Party

Despite a forecast of rain the sun shone all day on Barbara's Garden Party and the event turned out to be a resounding success.

The open house was held on Thursday 18th July and attracted lots of parishioners and friends who came along to support Barbara's efforts to raise money for us to bid for the magnificent new Lifeboat Quilt when it goes up for auction for Mumbles RNLI in September. We hope to keep it in Mumbles and have it permanently on display at All Saints. In the end, the garden party raised £400. It was a wonderful effort especially as entrance tickets were £2 Tor coffee and cake.

We thank Barbara so much for opening up her lovely home and garden for us and for all that she does through the sale of her cards. To date she has raised over £5,000 for good causes and an amazing £1,400 [at the time of print] for the quilt bid. We also thank her team of helpers, Poppy at the door, the cake bakers, tea and coffee makers, those who did the washing up and all who came along on the day.

Barbara hopes to hold another garden party next year, as long as the Vicar prays for sunny weather again!
