The twenty four hour Hymnathon has now raised just over £5,000 for the three charities it is supporting, Mumbles RNLI, T9 Olwen, the Swansea Hope Night Shelter and our own organ appeal.

The sponsored event ran from lOam on Saturday 30th March to lOam on Sunday 31st. As it was the night the clocks went forward an hour our singers stayed on to lead the Choral Eucharist until 11am, making a full twenty four hours.

The Hymnathon was the idea of our Director of Music, Luke Spencer, and it brought the choir and their supporters together for an enjoyable and, at times, exhausting event. The lowest number of singers we had, at any one time, was eighteen, the largest number was sixty.

We thank the choir, team of organists, all those who came along and who supported the fundraising event so generously. Best of all, we've raised a thousand pounds for each of the three charities. We might do it all again, but perhaps not for a few years yet!
