Parish Day Out to Brecon - Sunday 22nd July

Parish Day Out to Brecon - Sunday 22nd July

The bus will leave the Drangway steps at 11.15am on Sunday 22nd July for a day trip to the beautiful Mid Wales market town of Talgarth, calling for a two course Sunday lunch at the Castle Hotel, Brecon, on the way.

We will then travel to Talgarth, where there will be an optional tour of the historic St Gwendoline's Church. Others might like to explore some of the walks around the town.

Our own Church Choir will lead Choral Evensong at 4pm, which will be followed by a wine and nibbles reception in the nearby Church Hall. We plan to leave at around 6pm for the return journey over the Brecon Beacons and we should arrive home in Mumbles by 7.30pm.

Talgarth lies at the foot of the spectacular Black Mountains, famous for it's red kites. The mainly fifteenth century Church is dedicated to St Gwendoline, one of the many saintly children of the 5th century King Brychan Brychieniog. She is believed to be buried on the site. The Church is also the final resting place of the founder of Welsh Methodism, Hywel Harris.

The cost is £28 [including a two course lunch & if we can fill the bus]. Please let Anne at All Saints ['-466885] and Brenda at Norton [Z541792] know if you would like to join us. We also ask that payment be made by Sunday 16th July.
