Vicar in Training - Summer Placement

Vicar in Training - Summer Placement

At the end of May we will welcome Aidan Watson, an ordinand from Trinity College Bristol, who will work in the parish for a month. He will be staying with Jane and William Peters and will assist the parish clergy in their pastoral work and at the daily round of services. We very much hope that he and his wife Cathie will join us for the Parish Summer Supper on 16th June. [Aiden & Cathie are pictured on the left]. Please give them a warm welcome to Oystermouth.

Aidan has written this introduction to us;

Hello, my name is Aidan and / am currently in my first of three years ordination training at Trinity Theological college in Bristol. I have the pleasure of joining you in Oystermouth on a month long placement starting on Sunday 28th May, where I will be helping Keith out a bit and generally shadowing him.

A bit about me is that I am originally from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. After studying history at university in London I did a year's internship at my home church, before moving to St John's Church in Egham, Surrey, where I was the student and youth pastor for 3 years.

I am married to Cathie who is originally from south Wales, having grown up in Keith's previous parish of Ystradgynlais. Hopefully you will get to meet her when she visits, although she will be spending much of the month in Bristol where she is currently working for our church there getting some ministry experience.

I love everything related to sport, please stop me if I talk about it too much but I am particularly looking forward to the lions rugby tour this summer! Looking forward to meeting many of you soon!"
