Baptisms / Christenings
What is Christian Baptism? It is a sign of God’s love, and together with the Eucharist was given to the Church by Jesus who was baptised in the River Jordan by St. John the Baptist.
Baptism brings your child into God’s family and is the beginning of the Christian journey for your son or daughter. The Parents and Godparents of children being baptised make promises to encourage and guide the children so that they understand the Christian faith.

Weddings and Wedding Blessings
If you decide to be married in Church, we shall do all we can to make your wedding a happy occasion. But before all your plans are made it is important that you contact the Vicar for an informal interview. A rehearsal in Church will be held a few days before the 'Big Day'.
A wedding is a public declaration of love and commitment between two people, but choosing to get married in Church has an added dimension - the assurance that God cares about your relationship and that his love and strength will be with you both. Christians believe that marriage is a gift from God.
Banns are the usual legal preliminary to your wedding in church. They are a public announcement that you want to get married. Banns are read out in the main Sunday service in the parish where each of you lives as well as in the church where you are going to be married, if that is a different church. The Banns are called on three different Sundays during the twelve weeks before the wedding.
If you are already married and wish to have your marriage blessed in Church, we shall be delighted to help organise the service for you both.
